1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using Thalos ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Thalos is a scuba dive logging, planning, and safety application. It provides dive calculators, a dive site library, emergency procedure references, an instructor management module, and optional community features.
Thalos dive calculators — including the decompression planner (ZHL-16C), gas planner, gas blending calculator, SAC rate calculator, turn pressure calculator, and all other computational tools — are provided for reference and educational purposes only.
These calculations are not a substitute for proper dive training, certified instruction, dive tables issued by your certification agency, or a dive computer. Scuba diving is inherently dangerous. Dive planning errors can result in serious injury or death.
Always:
- Dive within the limits of your training and certification level
- Use a dive computer as your primary decompression management device
- Verify all calculations independently before relying on them
- Follow the standards and procedures of your certification agency
- Never dive beyond your experience level based solely on app calculations
3. User-Generated Content
You are responsible for any content you submit through community features (class listings, trip listings, dive center listings, collaboration media). You agree not to post content that is false, misleading, defamatory, or violates any law.
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms.
4. Intellectual Property
The App, its design, code, dive site library, and content are the intellectual property of Thalos and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content without permission.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Thalos and its developers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:
- Your use of or inability to use the App
- Any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in dive calculations, site data, or emergency procedures
- Any injury, illness, or death related to scuba diving activities
- Any decisions made based on information provided by the App
- Loss of data stored locally on your device
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
6. Assumption of Risk
Scuba diving is a hazardous activity. By using this App, you acknowledge that you understand and accept the inherent risks of scuba diving and that no application can eliminate those risks. You assume full responsibility for your diving decisions.
7. Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
